Setting up your Tahoe Sandbox (testing site) - Appsembler

Setting up your Tahoe Sandbox (testing site)

Note: This feature is only available to customers with a Tahoe Premium plan.

Why set up a Tahoe sandbox site?

Need a safe place to experiment with new integrations, design changes, and more – without affecting your live production site? Then set up a Tahoe sandbox site. In the Appsembler world, your sandbox site is just a second instance of Tahoe. You will create it yourself by setting up a new free trial with a different email address. Once done, we will grant the same tier and features as your main site.

Set-up process:

  1. Launch a brand-new free trial here: https://www.appsembler.com/tahoe/trial/
  2. Use a different email address than you used on your live production Tahoe site.
    • If you’re on Gmail, we suggest something standardized like email+sandbox@yourdomain.com (ex: jane+sandbox@appsembler.com), and then using the same format for all users on the sandbox site.
  3. At the “select your subdomain” step, name your site yoursitename-sandbox.tahoe.appsembler.com (ex: appsembler-sandbox.tahoe.appsembler.com)
  4. Once your site is set up, please email us at support@appsembler.com with your new domain, and we will align the site with your production tier and features.

Accessing your Tahoe Management Console Sandbox:

  • Admin users access their Sandbox site (the Tahoe Management Console) at https://amc-app.appsembler.com
    • Yes, this is the same link used to access your live AMC site.
    • IF you are adding additional admin users, be sure to follow the same email rules (don’t use the same email they are using in your live production site.)
    • Users must login with a second email address (NOT the same one they use on their live site.)
    • The routing to their Sandbox vs. Live sites happens based on the user name, which is why a new email is required.

Accessing your LMS Sandbox:

  • Users access their LMS Sandbox via their company’s unique link: https://chef-sandbox.tahoe.appsembler.com (Same rules apply):
    • Users must register and login with a second email address (NOT the same one they use on your live production site.)
    • The routing to their Sandbox vs. Live sites happens based on the user name, which is why a new email is required.

Sandbox rules:

The sandbox is intended for testing and experimentation purposes only. Please restrict all usage to internal users and limit the total number of MAUs to no more than 25.
