Reset a user’s password
Note: Before completing the password reset, it’s a good idea to check and see if the user has locked themself out, and unlock them if so. See this article on using UnlockerX.
1. Log into the django admin page for the edX page you’re going to be editing users on.
2. Search for the user for whom you want to change the password
3. Select the user.
4. Look for the small font under “Password” that allows you to change the password. Click it.
5. Type the new password, and then save it by clicking “Change password”
6. Send a secure email to the user and inform them of the new password. (Use Sharefile or Keybase for this.)
