- Log into the /admin page for the AVL site
- Click on Users
- Click + Add User
- Use the user’s email address as their username and set a randomly generated password. Send these credentials to the user via either Keybase or ShareFile and make sure they know to change their password at https://<cluster-url.com>/admin/password_change/.
- Leave the Ssh public key field blank
- Click Save
- On the next page, fill out the appropriate First name, Last name, and Email address information.
- Tick the box next to Staff status. Leave the Superuser status box unticked.
- Under the Groups section, highlight the admin permissions group in the Available groups box – usually it’s the only one available – and click the arrow to move it to the Chosen groups box. If you don’t see a group here, please check with the AVL engineers: there should be a group for you to choose.
- Scroll down to Ssh public key at the bottom of the page, and enter the text “example” in the text box.
- Click Save
